Chronic Headache / Migraine (Ardhavabhedaka)
Prevention is better than cure
What It Is:
Migraines are recurrent, throbbing headaches often accompanied by nausea, sensitivity to light, or sound. In Ayurveda, this condition is known as Ardhavabhedaka and is considered a Tridoshic disorder, though predominantly involving Pitta and Vata dosha. Triggers include irregular eating, stress, excessive heat, or toxin accumulation. Migraine is often linked to nervous system hyperactivity, poor digestion, or hormonal imbalances.
Symptoms:
- Intense pain on one side of the head
- Sensitivity to light and sound
- Visual disturbances (aura)
- Nausea or vomiting
- Pain worsens with physical activity
